White crystalline powder, odorless, soluble in water, moisture absorption, molecular weight 442.56, pH 7.3 + 1 (5% aqueous solution, g/ml,), water solubility (> 60% (g/ml, 25 C). [Main uses]   

This product is specially used for anticoagulation of blood in vitro. It is an anticoagulant additive for clinical blood test. It is used for pretreatment of blood samples (anticoagulant treatment) in the process of clinical blood collection and test.

[Scope of application]

EDTA salt can protect the cell composition of blood, does not affect the white blood cell count and size, has the smallest impact on the morphology of red blood cells, and can inhibit platelet aggregation. It is suitable for general hematological tests. In addition to platelet separation test, it is not suitable for coagulation test and platelet kinetic energy test, nor for the determination of calcium ion, potassium ion, sodium ion, iron ion, alkaline phosphatase, creatine kinase and leucine aminopeptidase and PCR test.

Adequate EDTA is needed for anticoagulation, but excessive EDTA may cause morphological changes of blood cells. It is particularly important to control the amount of potassium EDTA accurately.

EDTA Tripotassium can be used in combination with sodium fluoride and separating gel. When EDTA tripotassium/sodium fluoride is combined, 1.2-2.0 mg Tripotassium and 2-4 mg sodium fluoride are added to every milliliter of blood. When EDTA tripotassium/separating gel is combined, the amount of additive of Tripotassium is unchanged, and the amount of separating gel is 0.8-1.2g for each test tube. When combined with separating gel, anticoagulant effect, wall silicification, centrifugal condition and separating gel quality will affect blood separation effect. It is suggested that high quality plasma samples can be obtained by using the separating gel produced by our company.

When impurities, foreign bodies, abnormal odor, color, serious moisture absorption and expiry date of EDTA Tripotassium occur, it is forbidden to use.

This product is a chemical reagent. It has strong corrosive property. It is forbidden to touch directly by hand. When sprinkled on the skin, rinse with plenty of water. If it splashes into the eyes, it can be washed with plenty of water immediately. In case of emergency, it should be sent to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately.

The water solution of this product can be sealed and preserved at room temperature under sterile condition.
